Red and Black Hens Party Cupcakes

It seems to be wedding season at the moment because I have been making tons of Hens Party goodies of late!  These particular cupcakes were ordered from Cape Town by a bridesmaid named Amy who flew down to Durban specially for the actual Hens party.....another story about a great friend....at My Favourite Cupcake we love that! :)

Hopefully these decedent chocolate cupcakes perfectly suited the black and red theme that the BM's have planned for their bride tonight....hope you girls have a fantastic evening! :)

For All The Lovers

Happy Valentines day everyone!  For those who didn't receive these lucky biscuits on this day of love, I wish you lots of flowers, chocolates and romantic dinners with yummy food! :)

Project Pink Chocolate Cupcakes

Today I am heading to Cape Town for a Project Pink weekend away - I am going to see all the Oakley ladies and are going to share another weekend of great fun, outdoors activities and rocking shades.....I CANNOT WAIT!

I baked some cupcakes to take along with me - a little something sweet to start off what is going to be a great weekend - nothing wrong with that! :)

You can read all about the weekend here.

I heart Le Creuset!

The bonus about having the best friends in the world (see below post), and being into all things foodie, is that when Christmas comes around, I am always spoiled with lots of AWESOME goodies!  This Christmas my friends played out of their boots and gave me these awesome little Le Creuset heart shaped ramekin dishes - complete with little lids!

Now anybody who loves fusing in the kitchen will know how awesome all the Le Creuset products are, so you can imagine how stoked I was to have a whole set of these little ramekins....so RAD...thank you girls!

Thank yous aside for a minute, the other night my sister and I had my parents over for dinner and it gave me the perfect excuse to use my new dishes...I used the recipe that came with my new favourite kitchen accessories and made Berry Creams.  What is really great though, is if you go onto the Le Creuset website, you can find a whole lots of really good recipes for all sorts of things....if you are keen to check it out...click here.

Their Love Is Here to Stay

Last Saturday I had the privilege of attending a pre-wedding breakfast at The Vineyard Hotel for my friends Jared and Hannah.  They are getting married in the UK in December, and as most of their South African friends will not be able to be there for the ceremony, they had a pre-wedding breakfast here in Cape Town.

Beautiful venue, beautiful table settings - really lovely words from the special people in their lives - all in all, a fantastic champagne filled morning!  After such an awesome pre-wedding celebration, I can only imagine what the real deal will be like....wishing you guys all the best with that one...you can be sure that I will be wearing my white wrist band and thinking of you on that magic day!

I baked these cakes for the impromptu engagement lunch that we had at home in PMB, my family, Jamo's family - beautiful day, lots of champagne...awesome!

Congratulations Jameson and Meg...wishing you many happy years together and lots of fantastic excuses for me to make you more cupcakes :)

Rustenburg Read-a-thon Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes

Nothing inspires kids to get reading like the promise of a chocolate cupcake!  I made these cupcakes as the prize for the top two classes in the Rustenburg Read-a-thon....I was pleasantly surprised when my sister's class won the prize...go Miss O and your grade 5's! :)

World Cup Opening Ceremony Love

I made these for a dinner that I went to on day of the opening game of the World Cup...GO BAFANA!!!

I'm so excited that the World Cup is finally here - the vibe is amazing and I'm so proud of South Africa for a rocking opening ceremony!

Hens night hearts

Recently, I was asked to make cupcakes for a Mamma Mia themed Hens night, and I was super excited at the prospect of this...I was imagining bright Abba outfits, with sequins and stars...but when it came down to actually icing them...I had a bit of mare!

As it turns out sequins and brightness is actually quite hard to accomplish when you are working with edible substances (who would have thought)! Anyway, as it turns out, Pick n Pay have a mad range of coloured sugar crystals, and metallic silver balls, and these turned out to be the perfect ingredients for the hearts on top of these cupcakes.
