Chocolate Lilac and Lace Wedding Cupcakes

This weekend I baked for wedding....and it was definitely one of my favoutite orders in a while! :) The wedding was for a girl name Stacey - she teaches the other Grade 6 class as my sister's school (so I had to do a good job).

Stacey came to me a little while ago with a request for chocolate wedding cupcakes.  She said that her fiance loved cake, so we had to go through a tasting before we found her the perfect cake.  Eventually she settled for dark chocolate cupcakes coverd with marshmallow and white and dark chocolate drizzle - delicious!

My favourite part about this order though, was the decorations on the cake and cupcakes....the wedding had a lilac, white and black colour scheme, so the cupcakes were made to match.  Each cupcake had beautiful lace and lilac ribbon around it, with a little sparkling glitter detail....I loved they way they looked!

A special little mention must go out to the groom and his Mum for selecting the cute little cake topper....isn't it awesome when the groom gets involved with the cake - other than just to taste it! :)
Stacey and David, I wish you all the best in your life together....may it be filled with good times and great memories!  I hope the cakes tasted as good as they looked!

Black and White Chocolate Cupcakes

My parents have been married for 30 years today....that is longer than I have been alive!  I think it is amazing....how many people can say that these days - it is a true inspiration!

We went away as a family this last weekend to a game farm near Phinda....such a beautiful weekend away in the bush with our family....it was awesome! :) I made these chocolate cupcakes to celebrate their anniversary, and we made a special family dinner - loved it!

Happy anniversary Mum and Dad - I love you guys

Winter Wedding Cupcakes for Meg and James

I made these cupcakes for my sister Meg and new brother-in-law James' wedding.  It was held at The Old Halliwell Country Inn in the Natal Midlands.  They actually got married on the 2nd of July, but I have been really slow about getting together the pics from the wedding in order to post them on my blog.  It was the most beautiful wedding (and I'm not biased at all being the older sister here).....lots of handmade detail by the bride and groom, you could feel their presence in every little bit of the decor....absolutely stunning!

The cupcakes I made are Meg's favourite - chocolate cupcakes with marshmallow topping covered in three types of chocolate drizzle....they were divine!  (You might have previously seen them here) Thanks to all the other bridesmaids for helping me out with these - made my job a lot easier to have so many helpful hands!
Janie and Jameson I wish you many happy years together.
Love you both lots!
xx
Ok, now that I have said my bit, let's be honest....as is always the case with wedding's.....you don't want to see the cake, you want to see the bride....so here she is in all her splendor.....can you tell what a proud big sister I am :) .....

Bride and Groom Cupcakes

Last night my friends Leigh and Scott got engaged - I have known them both since varsity days (when they started dating)...such AWESOME news!  Very stoked for them! :)

This morning (when I popped around to hear all about the proposal story...moonlit sea view, little bench on balcony, flowers, balloons scattered everywhere....just so that you are all getting the romantic vibe here) I took theme these little bride and groom cupcakes.

Congratulations Lee Lee and Scotted Dogg!  I am so stoked you guys and wish you all the happiness in the world in your years ahead together

Naidoo Wedding

Congratulations to the happy couple who got married at the DLI Hall this weekend...you can tell by the pics that there were huge celebrations had at this wedding....400 people....that's insane! :)

Purple Wedding

So, like I said in my previous post, I was in Cape Town last weekend to bake for a wedding.  It was held a Monchique Barn, which is kind of between Constantia and Hout Bay and the colour scheme was purple.

As is always the case with weddings, everyone wants to know what the tables looked like and what the bride was wearing - unfortunately I was not around to see the bride, but I did capture a bit of the vibe going on at the reception...enjoy! :)

Love is in the air...wedding cakes to follow soon!

There is something in the air at the moment, but it seems that every second person is getting engaged....my sister and my best friend are both getting married in the next 6 months!  Hectic!  Never in my life have I spent so much time talking about dresses and seating plans, considering flowers and menus....it's awesome!  For those who find themselves in a similar position, you need to direct your attention to Green Wedding Shoes and The Pretty Blog...amazing stuff on there if you are looking for ideas.

The best thing about all this wedding talk, is that where there are engagements, there are weddings, and where there are weddings....there is wedding cake! :) I figured that if I am gonna start making more wedding cakes, I better get some practice in...so that is what this cake was, just a practice round before I make the cakes for all of you engaged types who are itching to get MFC to hook you up with a gorgeous wedding cake on your special day!

Wedding Cupcakes for Mr and Mrs Rock

This last weekend I was in Matuba...just near St Lucia (for those who don't know) for Britta and Tanner's wedding.  Britta, or Cookie as I more fondly know her as, went to school with my sister and so has been "in our family" for many years.  My whole family drove out to Zululand on Friday and spent the weekend in the sunshine icing cupcakes and sharing in the wedding celebrations...can't think of a better way to spend a sunny weekend in December!

Now I know that when it comes to weddings everyone wants to see the dress and the tables etc,so I have a attached a couple of pics of all of that....just to give you an idea of how magical the day really was.  (And let me just say...before you even look...the pics really aren't going to do it justice...was SO beautiful!)  I was lucky enough to be asked to make the cupcakes for the wedding, so there are a couple of pics of those as well.

Congrats Cooks and Tanner!  Wishing you many happy years together...so glad I was able to be there and share your special day :)

The Cupcakes

Their Love Is Here to Stay

Last Saturday I had the privilege of attending a pre-wedding breakfast at The Vineyard Hotel for my friends Jared and Hannah.  They are getting married in the UK in December, and as most of their South African friends will not be able to be there for the ceremony, they had a pre-wedding breakfast here in Cape Town.

Beautiful venue, beautiful table settings - really lovely words from the special people in their lives - all in all, a fantastic champagne filled morning!  After such an awesome pre-wedding celebration, I can only imagine what the real deal will be like....wishing you guys all the best with that one...you can be sure that I will be wearing my white wrist band and thinking of you on that magic day!

Meg and James' Engagement Cupcakes

My little sister is engaged!  YAY!  After such fantastic new it is revolting that I am so late in putting this post up....she has been engaged for almost a month now...but better late than never!

I baked these cakes for the impromptu engagement lunch that we had at home in PMB, my family, Jamo's family - beautiful day, lots of champagne...awesome!

Congratulations Jameson and Meg...wishing you many happy years together and lots of fantastic excuses for me to make you more cupcakes :)

Love you both lots

My best friend is getting married!!!

My best friend Row got engaged last week Wednesday, and so I was VERY excited when she and her fiancĂ© Chris came back to Cape Town so that I could hear the story in person and give them their congratulations cupcakes!

You can see in the picture above the book that Chris proposed with - such a cute and romantic story (Wenz you lucky girl!), as well as the engagement notice from the newspaper in PMB, and then the cupcakes that I made for them to celebrate their happy news.

Congratulation Wenz and Chris....very excited for you both!  Wishing you many happy years in your shared future together! :)

Wedding Bells

I was SUPER excited the other day to get a call from a lady who asked me to make the cupcakes for her daughters wedding! YAY...first wedding for My Favourite Cupcake!!!

It was a small wedding that happened in Paarl - only 60 people attended - so it was quite a nice size for a first time wedding baker. The cake looked beautiful...even if I do say so myself...white roses and white icing with a little bit of a yellow trim looked really stylish and romantic. I didn't get to see the actual bride herself - but I have been promised photos, so when I get them...I will put them up for you all to see (the pic above only shows the top layer)

So those of you who are going to be tying the knot in the near future...it's official MFC now does weddings...so keep me in mind! :)
