Peppermint Crisp Cake

Seeing as thought I was already baking cakes for the grannies and grandpas of Riverside, I thought I should show some love to my own Gran, so I made her this chocolate and peppermint crisp cake.  I had some of it yesterday with tea....and it was amazing....even if I sat so myself!  It was rich and creamy and delicious....if you have a sweet tooth, this one is most definitely for you!

Smartest person I know...when it comes to the plants and the animals

I'm so proud of my friend Gwyn who graduated with her Masters in Conservation Biology yesterday....she is now officially one of the cleverest people that I know! :)

I baked her these cute little graduation cupcakes to celebrate her achievement - they are just normal vanilla cupcakes topped with peppermint icing and little graduation hats (made out of a rolo and a peppermint crisp). Pretty rad.

Congrats Gin - you are a rock star my friend!

Peppermint Chocolate Creams

Most of the cupcake requests of late have been to bake more chocolate types of cupcakes. With these requests in mind, I decided that seeing as it was my turn to host book club...this would be a perfect excuse to try out a new chocolate cupcake recipe...que chocolate cupcakes with creamy chocolate and peppermint icing :-)

These cupcakes went down a treat with all the girls....chocolate cupcake bottoms and creamy peppermint choocolate mouse topping....mmmmm!
